Sometimes people ask, how do you get that antiqued look with the dark coming through?
Honestly, sometimes its as easy as adding one brush stroke of Junk Monkey Paint.
I always say i'm over brownie frownie, BUT here is when brownie frownie (outdated, tired, brown looking stuff) wins out...
Just do some dry brushing over it, and boom! Antiqued look!
Now it's going to be important that you use the proper kind of brush to get that ultimate distressed, dry brushed look. It works best I find with harder bristle brushes. My go to EVERY SINGLE TIME is my shabby chip brush.
That dry hard bristle brush, combined with Junk Monkey gives a gorgeous old time look. And because our paint sticks to pretty much everything under the sun, (which means that you can have fun doing this with all kinds of projects), AND it dries to a flat matte look.......you can't beat it! Just grab a brush and go bananas!
On this project I used Junk Monkey Paint in Vintage White. If you love this vase (that I got at a thrift store for all of $2.99), you are gonna wanna watch the video tutorial here.
Enjoy! xo
